What's your favorite budget bushcraft blades (sub $40)? Knives that are inexpensive, but that perform well and that you would trust in the woods. I have been using my cold steel kukri and cold steel true flight thrower for the last week or so. I have added a vinegar patina on both of them, and i am really surprised by how good the true flight thrower performs. It cuts, notches and chop's very well. Let's see pic's of yours :)

Haven't had it really long, but the Condor Bushcraft Basic 5 seems pretty solid for a 30.00 knife.

Mora 510 and a Nessmuk I made from an Old Hickory skinner. My favorite fixed blades, actually. The Mora cost me $12 and the Nessmuk cost $8.00 and a few hours of work.

The Condor Bushlore comes to mind. With about a 4 3/4" blade, it seems a great inexpensive woods knife.

I have been getting into Condor machetes lately, which I also consider pretty good bushcraft blades.

I've been pleased with my recently acquired Condor golok as a versatile alternative to a hatchet. I have a Condor Hudson Bay on the way too, which I am eager to try.

Condor Condor Condor! My Rodan, Bush Knife and Viking make something of a Nessmuk trio for me. :p But there are so many models that would be great for Bushcraft purposes it's hard to pick specific ones. Svord, Mora, and Opinel are all good options as well. I just got Opinel's chef knife in (just need to finish inspections before they go up on the site) and it strongly resembles medieval utility/belt knives. Contrary to online descriptions it's a 2/3 length tang of similar build to a Tramontina (but we know how much abuse that construction can take!) It's in a full convex grind that's 1/8" at the spine. It feels like a feather in the hand but it chops wood astoundingly well!:thumbup:

The Western W49 Bowie that I bought new in 1978 for the cost of $19.00 has been one of the best low cost blades I have owned. Dig the Moras too.

Same here..it would be hard to find a better deal for the money spent ! Pair it up with the Condor Golok & your all set !

Wow..my father has the same knife purchased the same year ! I have always loved it!

I haven't tried a Condor yet cause I like the lightweight Moras. The Bushcraft Triflex works well.

I don't think I can add to the list, I would like to see FortyTwoBlades carry more of the Svord line. Who makes the best sub $20 ax / hatchet?

I plan on adding them soon! Just gotta' sell a li'l more stuff first. :D

Condor Kumunga, Condor Golok, Condor Bolo.. all great blades. I also like the Moras and Opinels, which are fantastic. Cold Steel Bushman is pretty nice, too. There are a lot of options, just depends on what you want to do with the knife.

I've got a True Flight Thrower aswell, and that thing is a beast. It will do work, not just throw. Very thick blade, and great balance. Now that you posted this, I may go get one of the Kukri to pair up with it.

No pictures, but a month or so ago I got a Case Sodbuster Jr and it surprise me in a really good way.
Since then it has been in my pocket, either in the city, the plains or the bush. I even took it to the beach.
Great little balde and the handle is a pleasure to the touch.
Best Regards
