Budget bushcraft blades (pics)

This past weekend I was introduced to the Cold Steel Pocket Bushman. Like my Rat Trap, it has a large blade profile in a thin knife that disappears into your pocket. And for sub-$40 it's a folder that can be thrown into a tree.

No, I don't know why I would want a folder to do that, but it's oddly satisfying.

I've got my Pocket Bushman in my pocket right now. Great knife. And you CAN one-handed close it if you know how.

Mine is a gourmet traditions 11 1/2 cleaver I got at goodwill for 3.28

Love that thing to death- takes an edge like no other and keeps it pretty well(for a POS) its thin enough to do amazing things(and it's hollow ground) but has enough weight behind it to chop outstandingly

I like my Mora Bushcraft forest & my highly modded 12" Ontario machete. Great duo @ $34 for the Mora & $21.99 for the OKC 12" machete.

It is a phenominal chopper, has a 2 finger choil, jimping, bowie style tip, firesteel area & modified handle. Works excellent.

Here are three budget items I take into the woods.

I picked up each one for less that $40.

The Golok and Bushcraft perform admirably in the woods, Kirby on the other hand... He doesn't process wood real well.

I love my Condor's, and my Mora's, but lately my goto knife has been the Gerber Big Rock! I 've been able able to get it scary sharp, abuse it regularly, and it still asks for more.
