Just getting into knives. Any budget collection starters? Prefer folders. Any damascus recommendations?

Also found this boker magnum bravo echo, can't find reviews anywhere, any information about this knife?

That boker has a low grade of steel. 440a is not so good.

Lots of good suggestions. My personal budget folding blades are the Enlan EL-01, Kershaw Thermite, Ontario Utilitac II, and the Esee Zancudo. My favorite right now though is the Kershaw Tremor. They are discontinued but kershawguy has them on close out for $25 shipped. It is a fantastic deal! I own two. http://kershawguy.com/products-page/featured-items/1950-tremor-closeout/

anything from Enlan and Sanrenmu make good budget introductory knives. All use 8Cr13MoV blades, and are typically sold at less than $15 apiece. I have accumulated more than 100 cheap folders and Enlan and Sanrenmu account for almost 70% of them.

Personally biased towards the M series for Enlan and the 7XXX series for Sanrenmu because of their < 3" blade length. And Sanrenmu has got non-locking folders in its lineup that use the same design as moderns but utilize a unique detent mechanism not found in any other manufacturer.

Yeah, SanRenMu is pretty great, I got the 7010 and it made me order five more of their knives. The quality is much better than what I expected for the price.

They are a mixed bag IMO. You need to be lucky to get a good one. That said they don't cost much and if you don't get a good one you can get your money back generally. And no, they don't all use 8cr....

I would spend the extra few bucks to get the Kershaw Tremor. You get a good company that will support its product.
