Budget folders, which would work best as a work knife?

So I lost my Buck 110 after a year plus of faithful service as a work knife. I’ve decided on two folders to buy to replace it. The two knives in question are the lockback Buck 722 Spitfire in 420HC and the button lock Civivi Incindie in 14C28N. Which knife would be more reliable as a work knife? Durability and reliability are the main concerns, with edge retention and ease of sharpening being secondary. Thanks everyone!

I think your primary criteria should be "replacability" when you lose it again. When our son went off to Iraq in 2004, I gave him a Colombia River (CRKT) M-21 as a pocket folder, figuring he might lose it . . .which he did. This pasty year he turned 45 and I gave him a Chris Reeve (CRKT) Sebenza.

For me a budget knife for work just doesn’t cut it, for real !
I think it’s better to spend more to get something that works well and less stress and more productivity . Money well spent.

When I was younger starting out I couldn’t afford a good knife and would get a cheaper yet sturdy knife from the local hardware store. I remember being so frustrated with them because they didn’t hold an edge and my hand and wrist would get fatigued and hurt sometimes till the next day. After a few years I earned some good increases in pay and finally was able to buy a good knife or two. I think my first one was a Boker liner lock in 440c that I liked and then I was gifted a Buck 301 in 425m. The Boker was stolen from me at work about a year later. I still have the Buck 301. Then I got a Buck 110 and I was set, it served me very well for many years at work and hunting till I got a Cabelas Alaskan guide 110 in s30v.

I’ve learned over the years that cheap inexpensive tools make the job harder and more stressful but a well made tool made with top grade materials is well worth it and life is better.
