Looking for a good budget knife, that holds a good edge and easy to sharpen. I am a catfishermen, so im looking for a knife to cut bait, line, and very light wood work if any. Was looking at a Mora but was curious how sharp they are out the box. My last knife was a case slimline trapper but gave it to my nephew.

Thanks so much for your time and thoughts;);)

Mora is a great choice. Mine have always been sharp out of the box. A Swiss Army Knife (SAK) would be my 2nd choice. Welcome to the forums.

Very hard to beat a Mora. Less than $20, sharp out of the box, keeps a good edge. And if you lose it then it's easy to replace.

Get a Mora, they're as good as they say!
Can't beat them for the $

I use a mundial 6" boning knife. I keep it in a sheath in whichever tackle bag I happen to be using at the time.

I've always had a Rapala in my tackle box. It must do the job fine as I've never given it much thought till this topic came up. Lol

If you want another folding knife look at a stainless Opinel. No reason not to have a mora too!

I'd go with a stainless Mora of your choice. They are normally quite sharp out of the box. The Companion or 5000 are the ones I'd look at. Maybe get two and keep one in the car in case one gets lost.

The Case Trapper is always a good flexible pattern.
