You guys ever shot any of this stuff? I got 40 rounds from Midway, thought I might take my Navy Arms 92 out next week hunting a day or so.

Before I went to work this morning I set up a target and shot 3 rounds of it. Wow! Stout load! More recoil than my wife's Marlin 94 in .44 mag. Gun seems to shoot well with it although slightly lower than other ammo at 50y

300 gr. Speer J.F.N. (1325 fps / M.E. 1170 ft. lbs.)

Expecting grizzlies?

Wow - what a load! The GA Arms 200gr GD in .45 Colt makes 1424 +/-6 fps from my Puma 24" SS M1892. That should do for thin skinned - like white tail. That 200gr .45 Colt Speer GD is a thick edged bullet, unlike the low speed Speer #4484 250gr .45 Colt GD, which is optimized for 800+ fps. To me - and my M1892 - and S&W 625MGs, that's the upper limit. Maybe my 255gr LSWC 880fps (4" 625MG) homebrews. Those 300gr JFNs - wow!

I know the 1892 design is stout - reportedly, it only took a beefed up bolt to go from a .45 Colt Puma 1892 to a .454 Casull. Good luck next week.

It has plenty of pop out of a 5 1/2" Blackhawk. :) You know you touched one off because of the extreme closeup view you have of the front sight all of a sudden!:D

WOW! That is one hot load. I bet it will drop whatever you hit with it. Good luck hunting...

I just looked at the ballistic info on the .44 mag winchester ammo my wife uses in her Marlin 94 and it actually pushes a heavier slug faster than the .44 does.

That load would kill on both ends in my Freedom Arms Model 97. WOW!

Not that one, but I have a handload for the .44 Mag with a 310 grain Lee Cast SWC (looks like a beer keg) over xx grains of H110 for 1300fps+. Gets your attention.:D

I found loads like that MUCH more comfortable in the revlover (OM Super') than the Marlin 94. I am a recoil whimp due to shoulder and neck injuries so I tend to stoke the single actions and go light on the rifles.

For my .45 Colt (OM Ruger) this year, I wll be toning it down to 250 grain Cast SWC over xx grains of H110 for 1100 fps+.
