This knife is styled after a classic buffalo skinner style. It was forged from 1070 steel and has a Bois D'arc (osage orange) wood handle. The sheath is wet formed vegetable tanned leather with a full welt. It has been decorated with aged tacks and has deerskin fringe with buffalo fur tufted tin cones.
The knife, without sheath, weighs just under 7 ounces. Overall length is 8 7/8 inches with a 4 3/4 inch blade. The tang is tapered and the blade has a distal taper from approx. 3/16" at the front of the handle to almost 1/16" thick near the tip of the blade. Forge marks have been left on the blade and can be seen in the pictures.
