Buffer recommendation

I apologize in advance if this thread is a repeat, but I am unable to get any search results from the search function. I am kicking around the idea of getting a buffer. I would like to put bolsters on some of my knives and it seems a buffer is a necessity to properly polish them. Having previously read several threads on buffers (and the dangers associated with them) I have concluded that I probably want ~1hp (or less) and ~1750 rpm. For those who use a buffer, does this sound reasonable? Again, my usage will include bolsters and possibly wood scales. Any preferable brands?

Thanks...

I get all my buffing equipment from Caswell. I just ordered another 3/4hp, 1800rpm Baldor model 332B from them for $563. I ordered another $200 worth of compounds and whatnot, and shipping was $57 total.

I have one of their less expensive 3/4hp high speed buffers too, and it's a pretty good machine, but I'd much rather use a low speed Baldor.
