Buffer shaft size

Iam looking to buying a Baldor 3/4 hp motor. I know I am getting a 1800 rpm. What size shaft should I get? The 1/2 in. or the 3/4 in. . Which is the best way to go? Thanks for the help.

This is going to be a Buffer. Sorry for not mentioning it in my previous post.

Marcel,I would go w/the 3/4",most supply shops furnish 8-10"buffing wheels with a 3/4" arbor hole.It's also much less prone to flex when you lean on the wheels.I use a baldor 1800 rpm w/3/4",works great.

Right, go 3/4”. You dont want to constantly mess with adaptors.

3/4" on a 3/4HP buffer.
1" is even better on 1 HP buffers.
