I intend to start making knives very shortly, and I decided a buffer would save me a bit of time. I can have as many as 6 wheels, so what do you folks recommend for polishing up to a mirror polish?
A mirror polish shows up scratches and imperfections in a very obvious way. If you're just starting out, chances are that you will mess up a bit here and there on the first few knives as you're learning. A good satin finish or acid dip might be a better alternative for the initial knives. I'm sorry I know this doesn't answer your question
