Buffing compounds on leathers hones

Flitz isn't an abrasive as far as I know sure it polishes but I can't get my mind to using it on a strop.

Anyone lnow where in Canada can I put my hands on diamond paste ?

You can't polish without an abrasive.

Is just I don't get it, what the hell is Flitz then, because they say its none abrasive and when I use it it sure doesn't feel grainy at all. I'm stupid or plainly uneducated on what Flitz is suppose to be. Any enlightenment will be more than welcome :).

Flitz is a very fine abrasive, regardless of what they say. Polishing is an act of abrasion.
It doesn't feel grainy because the grains are extremely small.

Greetings: Flitz polish is formulated to remove only the LEAST amount of surface metal consistent with it's application as a polish/tarnish inhibitor. This is consistent with it's marketing as "contains no abrasives". Stropping benefits from a more agressive but not necessarily larger abrasive. So will your efforts. Flitz is a good metal polish but not the best stropping compound. Mother's Mag Wheel Polish is a cheaper alternative but will also yield the same highly limited results. OldDude1

I prefer Simichrome.
Abrasive size is not the determining factor, so much as abrasive hardness.

ive gotten great results with "turtle wax" rubbing compound on a leather strop. with the green, red, white or whatever. not so much. from now on i work my way up thru sandpaper grits and finish on a homemade strop with rubbing compound.

What's going on here today? Turtle Wax? Someone using crayons in another stropping post?!?
