a bit off topic here but what metod is used for buffing glass to remove scratches? or can it even be done? i know plastic can be buffed so i would imagine there is a metod used for glass?

I have never tried that stuff, just found the link looking for steel buffing information.

If the scratches are small and shallow, cerium oxide (make a water paste) will do the job. If they are extensive and deep replacing the glass is probably better.

I actually buffed the glass cover on the LCD of my digital camera using the same valve grinding wax that we knife users use for stropping. It works well manually applied. I was able to remove about 90% of the scratches on my glass LCD with that. I don't know how well it would work with deeper scratches on thick glass.
