my machinist bro is another hawk addict, and we've been friends for a long time; he wanted to get involved with the Hawk Project and we were discussing all the possible mods. i gave him about eight mods i would like, and he came up with about the same for the Trail Hawk, which we love;

i was thinking that doing this many mods this expertly (he apparently knows no other way) would cost so much it wouldn't be worth it, but he insisted i tell him what i thought would be the perfect hawk for me - my tastes tend to be equally field-use in primitive settings and combatives, and this was one of the two main suggestions i had. then he nailed 'em out and it was like Christmas for every buddy all of a sudden. :thumbup:

i hope we stick together as a team, the sky's the limit.

Your Machinist partner and you came up with a Real Winner on The Bug Head Hawk, Let me give you an Idea to ponder, A Modified Norse Hawk, Taking out most of the material on the under side for a Bear Claw Beard, And an Old School Viking Norse Hawk look, Alse reprofile the Edge with a Thinner profile=A Better Chopper, I can see It now ! You have an Incoming E-Mail on the Bug Head Hawk, :thumbup:

There you go Vec, I know you got all angle's covered "Cuz Your Wheel's Are Alway's Turning ! I use to Work In a Tool & Die Shop I seen what them Machinest can do, I've seen & operated CNC Mill's & Lathes, I ran then I "Never Programed them" That was above my Head, It's Amazing what them Tool & Die maker's can do with Steel, I like watching them CNC Mill's at work with Tool changing Robot Arm's ! Woo-Wee Now that Is one heck of a Steel Working Machine,

My artist/machinist brother is gonna have a pants-exploding meltdown when he sees how many of these Bug heads we need; I need to practice my begging, grovelling and pleading skills probably.

When we get some of those up past ten or so extra, we will do a run on the meat tenderizers, if he or another brother is up for the punishment.


Frank the Rawk, is my personal hawk, the first and only as you describe.

even the new Rare Hawk-Guarding Mexican Cur stays away from Frank.

I really like these ones..... you are starting to wear me down, brother. I may just have to stand in line to get "vectomized" synthetic sidekick for my good ole stubby stick handled "Chuck Norse". Perhaps even throw caution to the wind and let you decide on length. (Shhhhhh..... don't tell the others... but I'm starting to believe that you know what talking about when it comes to optimal hawk performance...)

i noticed the other day when working out with two Stadia Hawks in front of a mirror that the Stadia Lines confuse the eye a LOT. like zebras.

yep, the dreaded Busse AK-47. a local leather bender made me a sheath for freelast christmas of course i think he just wanted to play with it more than anything.

introducing the BUG hawk head.

the brother that grinds these from basic Cold Steel Trail Hawks for me is a true perfectionist.

Shark's Tooth beard.

a little mass taken off the cheeks, to optimize the head's mass and as a touch of complimentary style to the two undercurves that augment the Shark's Tooth on the bit, and the hook-like Penetrator Poll design.

the idea of the Penetrator Poll on the BUG head turned out way beyond expectations - it is still a good poll, but with the extra trimmed off, it has a lot of spike-like characteristics, and improved penetration through hard surfaces.

i can't wait to get these on some sexy black handles.

i thought ya might get a kick out of seeing them.

I Dug up this Thread from the Basement and I really like the Bug Head Hawk design, And I'd sure like to find one "Just the Hawk Head & Hickory Handle no Composite Handle" Did this Bug Head project ever get going ? And doe's anyone have a review ? Is Vec still makeing Hawk's ? I'll have to send an E-Mail and see If I can contact him,
