Bug Out Bag Knives by Ontario

Someone has added a new word to the dictionary to show they know a lot.

I know Tomahawk pretty well and if you feel you can hike or do anything outdoors as well as him then you need to write a book.

If you have ever grown up on a Indian Reservation in Oklahoma and done nothing but hunt and fish and live in the outdoors all your life then I guess you can split hairs but until then I myself wound set down and be polite as you seem to be the only key board commando here.

I'm not being a keyboard commando. And I find that your defense of your friend is unwarranted. I wasn't attacking him, and if you took that tone from my response, that wasn't my intent. However, now that you've essentially said:

"I know Tomahawk pretty well and if you feel you can hike or do anything outdoors as well as him then you need to write a book. "

Let me ask, where is the book he's written? After all, I mean, if he's such an expert, then he's written a few books, right? Tomahawk, no offense. Just messing with your watercarrier here a bit.

Signed,

An Eagle Scout who has camped and hiked in multiple states (to include Oklahoma) throughout his life. So, yes, I'm fairly confident I'm as good as hiking, camping, or "doing anything outdoors" as your friend. So, let's not turn this into a measuring competition alright? Because one, you be aware that there just might be others who are as good in the outdoors as your bud, and two, I'm not sure he'd appreciate being drawn into a comparison pissing contest. :)

Right, and people who've actually gotten off the internet or Youtube and have actually gone out and test-hiked with their INCH* bag or BOB know that actually, like Redmasta says, weight is a HUGE concern for folks who'll actually be going anywhere with this bag.

Nothing amuses me more than watching Youtube "survivalists" show off their BOB. They start unpacking everything, and after about 17 means of making a fire, and like, ten folders, I have to shut the video off. That tells me right there that this is all a fantasy for them. Try hiking say, ten miles with a bag that weighs more than 30lbs** and you won't get far before things seriously start to Suck. Just saying.

*What you're describing is an INCH Bag (I'm Not Coming Home).

** Or even less!!!

My version is really a Get Home Bag. It’s meant for EDC, and has a five pound limit. http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/1200695-An-Educated-BOB

A quick perusal of your link made me save that for reading this evening, thank you!

I guess I'm somewhat surprised at Jeepster who talks about being on a survival forum, and then responds to my mention of an INCH Bag with "Someone has added a new word to the dictionary to show they know a lot.".

Actually, no. It's a commonly used term on the three or four survival forums I'm a member of. I guess that term hasn't percolated to Jeepster's forum as yet.

Jeep, you gotta smile more brother, it's the end of the workday, I'm just razzin' ya. By the way, your knife lineup seems like it will work very well.
