Ok, so I have a question about what you guys usually carry around and/or opinions on my daily gear, sans CCW. Here goes:

CRKT M16-14D or CRKT KASPER
Leatherman Kick or Gerber Diesel
3-bladed Uncle Henry--Boy Scouts
Ka-Bar TDI LDK
Sure-Fire G2 or Streamlight Strion
Cell
ASP Key Defender OC

This is my basic set-up when off-duty/just messin around town. I also wanted opinions of my S.E.R.E. bag:

1.Gerber Gator Combo Axe-with Knife instead of saw
2. Gerber Diesel
3. Old Timer Beast
4. Streamlight Scorpion w/ 2 extra batteries
5. Compass
6. Frost Survival Knife
7. First Aid kit-Custom set-up for wilderness
8. Granola Bars and Beef Jerky
9. Rossi .38 Snub with 1 box of 38 +P
10. Camp Shovel
11. Ruger .22 with 1 extra brick
12. Zippo and a bottle of fuel
13. Gloves
14. Fishing line and a few hooks
15. Iodine Tablets and A water Bottle or the Camel Bak if I have it
16. Kershaw Amphibian
17. All inside my Jensen back-pack.
Sorry if this is posted elsewhere, I have yet to pay for the privelege of searching posts...

No problem, Doug. We offer a special internet navigation course using a map, a compass, and a mouse embedded with GPS. You'll find your way around here in no time! :D:D:D

I'll just leave this up and see what kind of reaction y'all have to my gear. Additions or removals? Things like that I suppose. Or even suggestions for better blades.

I usually have a ton of gear in my truck, but I have been trying to find a comfortable combo of gear to carry for a SHTF type of situation or if I decide to head off of the beaten path for a while. I know I cannot pack all the gear that stays in my pick-up for everything, especially if I have to get out of my vehicle and go on foot. I was directed this way to ask around...thanks in advance y'all...

If this bag is meant as a grab-n-go for an emergency situation where you have to leave your home for an indeterminate amount of time (storm, chem/biohazard etc.), I suggest you add an ATM card or debit card, alternate I.D., and cash. In many instances, you will be heading for another civilized location rather than the woods. And it certainly doesn't hurt to prepare for both. For the woods, I don't see a basic shelter or really more than snack food. Packets of instant soup, oatmeal, jello and drink mixes weigh little and take up very little space. I always feel more comfortable with something warm in my tummy and a roof over my head even if it is a sheet of plastic or a lightweight tube tent or tarp.

There also does not seem to be much in the way of shelter. I would suggest either an emergency blanket, or better yet, one of the bit heavier emergency bivies.

550 cord, ferro rod/lifeboat matches, loose change(phone, vending machine),nylon tarp, gorilla tape, signal mirror/whistle,snare,cyalume stick...these are just a few things I carry in addition to what you have there. You may also want to add a nalgene or canteen with a metal cup as well since a bladder isnt fool-proof. Good start though. I also line my packs with a drybag whenever possible(I live near water in a hot/humid climate so it helps me).
