Well in 'tribute' to Vassili's 'birdeyes' , and wanting to keep his thread unmutilated I thought it was time for another one.
What I personally would like to see is Macro shots of stuff. Macros of Bugs, Flowers, Rocks, Tree bark, Pet noses, anything interesting . No Knives . But It's gotta be Closeer than close!! I'm thinking 1 : 1 or better.

I'll start off with a few bug pics

here's a katydid nymph that some how my buddy managed to see in all the weeds in the yard... It's about 1/2" long, and bleds right in with the bright green weeds we get in FL. It's shown roughly 10x - 15x actual size

Trying to get a pic, the thing jumped on me, my only thoughts were I hope this wild bug isn't poisonous.

Everything but knives. Knife pics go in The Gallery. If the subject changes to the types of cameras used this thread will be moved to Gadgets & Gear.

Actually, you're making alot of sense there. Sorry for stepping on anyones feet or stepping on the rules.

Great flies, are they hand tied, perhaps by yourself?

I'm horrible at close-ups :( This is probably the best one I've taken, though. I thought it came out pretty cool.

Yes, I'm not much of a fisherman but I was curious about how flies are made, so eventually I learned and picked it up as a hobby, now I have a whole bunch of never used flies.

I thought a fly would be great to photograph close but could not choose only one, so I just picked up a few of the small ones.

I also like photography, so I'll hang around to see what others post, this can be a very good thread.

Sargeant Ant - nasty little buggers about 2 inches long and extremely aggressive

This is an extreme closeup of a bit of engraving on a zippo lighter- The fix was nearly shot when I developed the film, so it is slightly damaged.

bulbophyllum macranthum. I think this orchid is really cool. the flower blooms upside down, I would assume in response to the pollination habit of whatever insect pollinates it.

Is this close enough?
well I'll be___.
That's a pretty darn amazing pic. The tail of a rattler? yeah It's about as close a shot as I'd think of getting of a rattler , if it is one.......

Hmm.
I thought I had posted earlier, but apparently it didn't show. I musta done something wrong

was along these lines
Brews- sorry you lost your pet frog. There's a few of them that hang around the Orchid house out back. There are always at least 2 frogs I'm pretty sure they are the same two. And I regularly see 4 or 5 frogs. They are all Cuban Tree Frogs as far as I know...

I love 'em , Best natural insect control around!!
here's the one who's always in the same spot in the day. It will watch people walk back and fourth, moving it's head around to do so. Pretty funny critter. I've tried to 'pet' it, but it seems to not really care.....

A Buff Tip moth which took up residence outside our front door for two days.

It was in a very awkward position, hence the "non-artistic" photos. I was loath to disturb it lest it fly off.

Its camouflage (as a Birch tree twig) is astonishingly realistic.

That's awesome, not only a great pic , but you know what it is!

Just took these yesterday, happened to notice the little guy and have my camera at arm's reach.
I guess this is some kind of weevil. Not sure can't ID it.

On Sunday the 31st of July I found this little white footed mouse pup. My neighbors and I were chatting when one neighbor noticed a cat playing with something in the street. I went over to investigate and saw the cat playing with a mouse pup. His or her mother was nearby squished by a car. I have taken the responsibility of mothering/nursing it and keeping it for a pet. Wish me luck as mice this young, eyes still not open, have a low survival rate. I have been feeding it warm milk using a small syringe supplied to me by a local vet.

Ladies and Germs, I present LUCKY!
