Hi friends. I’ve had a standard Bugout some years ago briefly when it first came out. It’s been a while since I’ve had one in my hands. I took this in a trade and it doesn’t have the original box. I understand the clones are getting extremely good these days. Nothing jumps out at me as being off, but would like some third party opinions on this one just to ease my mind. The trader said it was purchased from BladeHQ early within the first year or two the Bugout first came out.
Here are some things that stand out to me:
Blade finish looks correct, not overly shiny and the grind lines are evident with a light stonewash
Logos look correct, and properly placed although the “S30V” looks a little closer to the thumb stud than what I’ve seen in photos.
The grivory has the proper sheen, not overly shiny.
The pivot is domed and all screws are a dull black oxide finish, not a shiny painted appearance
The clip is black oxide, the clones seem to use a shinier satin paint. The clip screws protrude through the scales though which they don’t on my authentic mini Bugout. The threaded inserts for the clip screws look black or brass not bright silver I’ve seen on the clones.
Anything else jump out to anyone? Appreciate it!
