Build out List

Were these the 110 (G10/BG42) that they had at the 20TH BCCI reunion at the factory? I believe J Houser told me there were 200 of these made. If there was only 16 I am keeping my 2.

Add: I just pulled the 110 out of the box and the COA says 200.

Unless there was a different 110 made with this combination I have not seen, just let me know.

It could quite possibly be a larger #. The # are what I see as what got accepted into inventory. Sometimes things happen outside the normal system and then it gets hard to track.

I have two of them. One came in a black limited edition box with the COA that you describe, but the label has no stock number. The second one is the identical knife but is in a regular box labeled as 0110BO5-B and "Factory Blem". The knife isn't etched or stamped "FB" anywhere and the blem is a tiny defect where the G10 meets the rear bolster.

I can only find evidence of 16...

Let me know which ones seems wacky and I'll research further.

I've found a few more that aren't on the list in case you want to add them:

0110BO16-B Macassar Ebony, black 460 blade
0405BO-B #8733 405 Sambar stag, ATS-34
0491BO-B #8712 Ergo Hunter SG Rosewood Dymondwood
0500BO-B #8704 Duke Buffalo inlays Vintage 440C blade

That is also strange usually build outs are not factory blemishes. Well I guess the good thing is there are less of these 110's than I thought.
Are you still going to start a Build Out Picture thread I have a couple of 110's that I can post pictures of.

I'm going to set up my new photo tent later today and start taking all new photos of the build outs. I'll start the thread afterwards unless someone else wants to start it before that. I have several things I have to take care of in town, so it will be awhile before I get started.

Hi Jeff,
Thanks for the list! I have a guy arguing with me about the quantity of the recent 116 Caper that way more than the 58 were made. Here is what he wrote to me:
"ok i have read all your emails with my wife and here is the deal. i called my uncle who got me into buck knives and he sent me a copy of the email you got being a buck club member and he said yes its the same knife that buck factory was selling at their holiday sale and he said that they try to sell knives to club members then next thing you know they have them in their factory sale floor and he has been ripped off before. i am sorry to be telling you this and i know its a hard fact to swallow but any limited number of anything comes with a certificate of authenticty and joes name has nothing to do with any of this. so no email makes a knife special so do what you want with the info but just because you were lied to by buck doesnt mean you should consciencly pass these lies or miss leading info on to uniformormed ebay people."
I am am anxious to here your answer or anybody elses.

Eric

I have a couple of 110's that I believe would be build outs. Possibly only 1 or 2 of a kind but they had no stock number on the box. Do you guys think these should be in the picture thread or would they be a whole other list. They are factory knives but they could be salesman samples or such.

If you have the boxes, does it say 110BO???-B or anything? I have some with no stock number but they do have BO in the description.

Hmmm, I wouldn't know what to say about them. I also have one, a 110/polished founders edition blade/elk handles that was one of a few (maybe 11 according to Joe) that were assembled in the shop by Joe Houser himself. It also came in a box with no label at all but I don't know if a number was ever assigned to them.

Hi Dave,
When I saw your 112 on this list......it got the old mind running. When the elk handle 0112BO1-B was offered, there was also a Ram handle knife 0112BO-B offered.

Dang jb, you just jogged my memory! I know that I have one of those somewhere. It and the Elk 112 came in black LE boxes, that's why I didn't find the Elk one right away. It is also the only BO (so far) that I've found that came with a COA.

Ok, I just checked a place where I had a bunch of knives in LE boxes stored and there it was. It also has the COA and the three dot blade. I also found a second 0112BO1.

OK, I just added those two (the 112's) and a Tempest 0295BO-B to the pictures thread.

I wonder how many more are going to pop up?

I took some #'s off the listing where I could not find quantities... I'll dig some more on the above ones
