building a spring-handle lock... ideas?

I have this crazy idea to incorporate into a design a bottle/can opener into the back-end of a sandwich-style liner-lock folder.

I've been looking at my leatherman juice C2, and my old swiss-army knives, and I've been observing how elegant the spring handle locking design is. I want to know if any one out there has had any experience with how that spring/locking mechanism works, has pictures on having made one, etc.

searching the forums has come up empty; i don't know if i'm even calling it the right thing, so i'm posting. any ideas?

thanks in advance :)

I believe you are describing a "slip joint". My old swiss army knives were all slip joints. I see no reason to have a lock on a bottle opener but a can opener may need one. My combo bottle opener/can opener is a slip joint.
You may need to invent your own to be satisfied with it. I have however taken knives apart to see what makes them tick.
