Building a vacuum chamber for scales

I am trying to put together a vacuum chamber for doing my own scales. I am having trouble get a seal. Wondered if anybody could help me come with a seal. The first pot I used was cheap and buckled once it worked. I then went to a industrial cooking pot. I just can't get to seal. Help.

When you say get a seal, do you mean "a complete seal" or a "sufficient seal." Any kind of rubbery gasket material should suffice. Are you getting any vacuum pressure at all?

I made one out of 3" PVC pipe. Seals up great. I'm not set up to post pictures here, yet. But you can see some pictures here:

I got vacuum, just can't get a seal between the top of the pot and the Plexiglas. The pot is 12" across.
