You can get plans for "strippers" from Canoe magazine, and I got a real good book about 10 years ago at Powell's in Portland (worlds best bookstore!).
I've helped build a couple dozen canoes, none quite like this though. Built some close; we didn't plank the entire hull, just stringers, and then worked the canvas over that. Those were good boats; did a lot of miles on the Colorado in them.
I've been very interested in building a stripper using the newer, more flexible hardwood plywoods. But then I'd rather be floating than building too, so it would have to be a winter project.
