Built a small log cabin

300Six- Yeah, didn't really have any mice problems. Then again, I didn't have it for very long before I had to head back to California. Which is why I didn't chink the walls and basically half-assed the roof. If I was able to keep it permanent, I'm sure I would have made it bigger, put more money into it, and sealed it up more securely. Cool story...

Thanks Gung ho. I actually didn't leave it in the woods. I was considering it, but ended up leaving it with a buddy of mine to keep on his property instead, and possibly sell it.

Nice cabin, axe collection, fur, fire and very nice pictures. Thanks for documenting the build for us!

Might not be pretty but if you stretch a cheap tarp over the roof every once in awhile it'll keep the water out and if you leave the tarp in place when a tin roof goes on you'll instantly have a built-in condensation barrier. It's neat that you've gone ahead and done this. You develop far better appreciation of log building with hand tools than by watching videos of other people's efforts.
With some luck your post will encourage a few other folks to tackle a project such as this.

Wow. That came out great! As a few before me have said I've always dreamed of doing something like this. Way to take action and just do it. Hope you get some use out of that little structure...

Good idea. And yes hopefully it will serve as some encouragement to others
