"Built Like A Tank" Benchmade Adamas Competitive options?

I have a spartan and other cold steels, but when I say experienced, I mean test them hard use

good move on the adamas, I was looking at all of these factors when I got mine a year ago, or so. Its a tank. the crumby painted scales are a minus though. hopefully you got unpainted g10.
gave me aq good excuse to make some bad ass new scales for mine though :)

IMHO, the Adamas is well worth the price. I have a SATU, three Striders and seven ZT's. They are all built like tanks and worth every cent, however since you are trying to keep the price down you will not regret the Adamas. PS I have as much faith in Benchmades Axis lock as I do in any of my frame-locks.

This oak knows exactly what he is saying. . . You just won't beat a Adamas with that beefed up axis. Anything else I'm sure you could eventually fail. I have failed zt, spyderco, others with frame and liner. But never a never an axis. I have no experience with cold steel locks... but sounds good. We need someone to put a hard use test with Adamas and spartan together... would love to see who wins that battle! I'm confident that Adamas will kill spartan, but would love to be proved wrong.
I bet you've never failed a cold steel, and it's half the price. My grand father always told me you get what you pay for, you some times get more!

Can't go wrong with an Adams...those things are legendary in the overbuilt field. The Contego is a good choice too. My buddy has a Contego...beast of a knife. He uses it every day on construction jobs and he has no complaints.

Another Benchmade I haven't heard anyone mention is the MPR. I've never handled one, but I've heard excellent things about it. I think they go for around $170, but don't quote me on that
