Bull-pup shotgun!!

Love the idea, but hate the manufacturer. If we could get this into remingtons hands we'd have a winner.

List price (street) is going to be in the 500-600 depending on the store.

Yeah that's true, but still a little pricey for me at the moment.

Now if this thing had two barrels, I think I would HAVE to have it..................just kidding....sort of...

Talk about LOUD!! And Heavy

Theres some rumblings from someone who is rumored to have a preproduction one in his safe that recoil is a beeeotch with it, which isn't all that far fetched but when release gets closer we will see if thats true.

Oh...and also some interesting read between the lines mumblings thats popping up in the slow stream of press reports on this is that kel-tec is going to be researching a semi auto version down the road. As they say " a pump is a logical first step"

If you notice on the photos theres a really nice space in the back that almost looks like its made to fit a magazine and almost like a magazine release. Take it with a grain of salt but beyond being based off the RFB its also looking like Kel-Tec is setting themselves up to have a platform already designed for a semi auto magfed bullpup...shotgun.

I wouldn't trade in my 870 for this shotty, but it would be a fun toy to add to the collection.

Don't mistake me for a Kel Tec fanboy, but Remington? They haven't exactly been hitting home runs of late.

Now that configuration would be interesting:thumbup:. I wonder if it's even possible, but what about some kind of recoil-absorption system in the stock? Wouldn't that be nice if they could find some room back there for that, eh?

I'd like to see how reliable it is, but its hard to beat the capacity, compact size, and rail options. Price better come down though

I can see that gun being featured in about 7 zillion action movies in the years to come. Sure, the AA-12 might be fully auto, with a 20 or 32 round drum, but action films love the drama of racking a pump action shotgun.

I have owned Kel Tecs and currently do own two handguns from them, and I have had nothing but good results.

It seems the majority of people who look down upon Kel Tec have never owned one or fired a gun produced by the company. They are turned off by the price, or other people who don't know much, and simply place them in the "cheap gun" category.

Interesting design, but, I would be happier with this one:

+1. A 12 ga AK-47 with 12, 20 and 25 rd options, who wouldn't like that? For $800 I think you can get a Saiga with some extras. They sell a bullpup kit for it too if you really want that. Although I've never fired one, the bullpup setup for a mag fed weapon always looked a little awkward to me. I'm sure some Steyr AUG and FN2000 owners can chime in on that.

I have a SUB-2000 and a P3AT and both have been reliable and have held up quite well.

I dont think anyone is going to be shooting hundreds of rounds through the bullpup 12 guage! So durability shouldnt be a problem. As long as its reliable it should be a good little weapon.

Those of you who wish Remington made one, if they did or ever do, add about $800 to $900 more to the cost. At least Kel Tek makes it affordable for what it is.

I do around 1500 rounds through my 870 a year, most of those aren't me shooting it though as I go to the range with friends and they use it.

Point being is that while you might not do 1k a session, 1k a year isn't unheard of. I mean if you fired 22 rounds a weekend (every weekend) by the end of the year you'd be over the 1k mark.

To me durability isn't gauged by short term use, but long term.

True, but my point is that this isnt designed to be a weekend plinker. I believe it is designed to be a home defender style weapon that once a person is familiar with it, a monthly shooting session of a box or two should suffice.

Similar to the P3AT--most people once comfortable with it, shoot it minimally. I shoot thousands of rounds per year out of my Glocks, maybe 300 to 400 a year out of the Kel-Teks. Although the Sub 2000 has about 5000 through it now and it is still in good shape.

In other areas, sure. But in the pump shotgun world they are still the best by a mile. My grandkids grandkids will be shooting my 870p. Most people are lucky if their keltec lasts for years.

You've got it backwards. If a gun is going to be used for defense, then you should be putting far more rounds through it than what a weekend plinker sees.

I'd actually be a bit suprised to see them that cheap, at least in the beginning. This thing has the look of "sold out before delivery" written all over it. :(

BTW, as we are waiting for this latest tacticool toy from Kel-Tec, did they ever get that bullpup .308 rifle they were flashing around a year or two ago into actual production?

True, but this one, made 42 years ago, is still going strong... ;)

Too bad it's made by Kel-Tec.

I'd rather have a Saiga.

I've held, and had, some older Remingtons. The new ones don't hold a candle to them. And that's the last I'll comment on the subject, so as not to derail the thread unneccessarily. My apologies to the OP.
