Bulldog brand blade steel

The 1st Gen Barlows are terrific knives in both green jigged bone and gnarly stag.

I know little about Bulldogs/Fight'n Roosters, except that some are quite the eye candy!!;) And they are well designed and made! This medium-sized Sowbelly is a great knife in all ways, F&F, W&T are great!!
I know that Charlie Dorton was a great designer, and Bill at Great Eastern considered him a mentor!! But this knife is marked Fight'n Rooster and "Frank Buster"??
So who designed it?? It sure looks like an Olbertz-made knife!!

Charlie, you are right about Olbertz. Frank Buster had them start making the knives in 1976, so they pre-date the Dorton Bulldogs by a few years.

Frank Buster did most of the design work for Fight'n Roosters and they were made in the Olbertz shop. It was almost impossible to get a hold of Frank Buster during the day but, if you called
him at the shop in Lebanon, Tenn. around 9 or 10 at night he would usually be there. That's when he would draw up his designs. When it was quiet and no one around.
