Bulldog what?

How bad are celluloid handles then? It makes me want to get rid of the knife if it's going to make stuff rust via corrosive gas. :eek:
 
After finding some celluloid knives in my collection and then doing some research on here about them, I'll give you the answer I've pretty much been able to figure out: it depends. I know, not much help, but that's what I've been able to piece together about celluloid. It seems some of it begins to break down pretty fast and only last a short time, and some seems to last decades. No one is really sure what causes it, but some factors are exposure to sunlight, exposure to petroleum products like certain oils, and probably a million other factors we don't know about. Sorry I couldn't help much.
