Bulletproof computer privacy

Drive Crypt full hard disk encryption from SecurStar?

For a less tech savvy person, how does DriveCrypt Plus stack up? As I understand it, this program offers good protection without the extensive measures above which are probably beyond most people who aren't real computer geeks. Installing your own OS and making sure you closed all the security holes isn't for a novice IMHO.

That was a very informative link. But what I am looking for is more "I just
want my info secure, not become a cryptographer". Besides all that much
looked for "deniabilty" can be obtained by purchasing a used computer.
I mainly just plan on using a an old laptop for a pda/word processor. With
only 8 megs, there isn't much more that I could ask for it.

I've seen it. No source code is available for review, therefore you should consider it insecure. The only claims to security are what the company says.

PGP Whole Disk or the Linux solutions would be a better choice.
