Bumblebee Khukuri

A leather handle on a khukuri usually takes about a week for me. I have a kobra with horn handle I'm thinking about giving it a leather handle. I also made a deal for a used chitlangi which might need a new handle. Looks like I might be doing this for a while..

In all seriousness have you thought about semi-commercial undertakings?

I for one would be interested in having you take on such a commission rather than me either messing up my own efforts or worse still, starting and never finishing the project?

Bonkers,I really don't think I'm good enough to charge for something like that.If my photos were better you'd probably be able to see the mistakes I make. :)

It is not so much a matter of you charging but rather of accepting an offer or commission with an agreed price predetermined before you begin. :D

Mistakes are part and parcel of the undertaking/learning process. As a non-professional or hobbyist perfection would not be expected. Bottom line is that you would be getting a fair recompense for your time meanwhile enabling a skill challenged person to have a unique blade.

It sure would be a big step to make and of course a suitable khuk blade would need be purchased (sharked) and when that would happen is anyone's guess. You might even have finished several more of your own re-handling jobs by that time and thus be in a better position to determine whether to take up the task.

Why not leave your decision open for now?:)

My first war clubs made back around 1988 or so were no where near the quality of the ones I've made in the last couple years.

TWBryan has the gift. Those of who do our own handcrafted work can recognize it in others.

Nice job on your handle, also like the ruger, I own an 76 MK1 6 7/8" semi bull barrel target model, bought it new anniv. issue.
