SO I spent the day Out in the woods Preparing my review for the opinel #7 I today I focused on making fuzz sticks, and making traps..I made 4 different types of deadfalls, 3 types of snares.. and demonstrated different notching and drilling techs. using the opinel...WHich was great, and a joy to use, I bought a cheapy digital camera at duane reade and took pics of the whole thing but they are...awful.absoletely no resolution..Like pics of the lochness monster. I was so Psyched but unfotunately I'm going to have to bring the good camera and try it again next week. Well at least I get another excuse to go out.

Thats sucks bro, I would have loved to see the pics. I hope it did not rain on you over there.

How did the Opinel due if you compared it w/ a fixed blade of the same size?

That really sucks. Any idea why that was? Even my crappy cell phone camera occasionally takes a reasonably good image.

Not that big of a deal John..you got to be out in the woods doing something cool, Bro

bummer about the pics, but like you say at least it gives you an excuse to get back out there.

can't wait to see the photos and traps...

Aside from that it was a great day... I attribute the pics to a cheapo camera..when minimized the pics look fine, Butwhen enlarged to a point where you can actually see what is going on..and they got more fuzz than...Well than something really fuzzy. As far as the opinel goest the more I use this knife the more I like it it's really just a joy to use..it feels very much like it is at home as wood working knife

At least you were outside and practicing skills. It's the trying that counts!

You'll get the pics - plus it is a reason to go back out and test your Mad Wildernez Skillz ( :D ) again...

Neato anyway. I did my first fig 4 deadfall last weekend, and it wouldn't hold snot for weight. So take heart.
