Doing a little spring cleaning. I'm not looking for anything specific, really.
Actually I have been wanting a Orange G-10 Case for a while, not sure which patterns they come in, and I'm interested in the Bark River stuff, too, but really I'm open to any suggestion. I'm always interested in Perrin, Szabo and Sean Perkins, too.
This is a real grab bag of odds and ends stuff, most have some back history, so enjoy! More pics to follow, couldn't fit them all in one post...
Spyderco
Dodo
Almost NIB Dodo with plain edge and blue G-10. Carried a handful of times, hasn't cut anything. No wear on the handle or clip. Box included.
Shabaria
This is NIB, never carried or used! Collector's item, for sure! Not sure how many of these were rolled out, but the designed was killed in a terrorist attack shortly after the product was released. Cool knife, will take something pretty special to get this one out of my hands! Linen Micarta handles with dual stainless steel liners. Very solid, quite comfortable in the hand, especially in reverse grip and the edge is wicked!
AT Barr
I have a trio of knives that came from AT Barr's shop probably close to 6 years ago. AT sold me these three as "kit knives." He had already moved the majority of his business to folders, so these were just gathering dust. He did all the grinding and heat treating, I edged the blades, did the finish work, handles, etc. These were done quite some time before I ever made any knives myself, so the work could be better, but they're solid performers. I am willing to strip the scales and replace them with anything, or modify what you already see below, to make these work right for you. I can also provide sheaths for these (Concealex). Email to discuss options! All are ATS-34.
Fighter
This is a medium sized fighter, I suppose! 9 1/8" long OAL with a 3 3/4" blade. Steel is 3/16" with an AWESOME tapered tang, so it's very light. The blade has a high flat grind. Will finish to suit, if you want. Email to discuss options.
Hunter/EDC/Utility
This may be a bird & trout knife, too. I'm not sure! 6" OAL with 2.5" blade. 1/8" thick ATS-34 with very deep, high hollow grinds gives this knife a very sharp, very thin edge. I set it up with Pakkawood handles, but they look pretty good. No funky colors or anything, looks very natural and nice. Brass pins and a mosaic pin I made. No sheath, but can make a nice multicarry Concealex number for it. Email me about it.
Combat
This is AT's classic Combat pattern. 11" long OAL with a 5.5" blade. As you can see in the picture, I slipped when I was putting the edge on this and dragged the blade over my grinder for about an inch. What an idiot! It's very light surface damage and doesn't affect the edge or performance at all, but it's ugly. With some sandpaper and LOTS of elbow grease you could make it go away. 3/16" thick ATS-34 with high flat grinds and another INCREDIBLE taper in the handle. Handle is natural canvas Micarta over red liners. I made some stupid grooves in the handle, and I can pop the handles off, finish them down to remove the grooves, etc. Comes with a woodland camouflage pattern Concealex sheath.
Odds n' Ends
Damascus kit knife
I picked up this little Damascus number at the Badger Knife show back in 1999. It's marked "MP". The steel mix was 1084, L6 and 15n20, I think. Knife is 6.25" OAL with a 2.5" blade. 1/8" thick. Would make a nice desk knife or small EDC with class. Can trade/sell as-is or finish out (I only do Concealex sheaths, so you'd probably want a leather one from someone else!) with a variety of handle options. Has a nice bit of filework on the spine.
Carbon Fiber EDC
Not sure who the maker on this one is, but he was a Bladeforums member way back in the day. This is 6 1/8" OAL with a 2 7/16" blade. I think it is 1095. Nice small slim knife. I finished it with stainless steel pins and a mosaic pin I made, with carbon fiber scales. Can outfit it with a Conealex multicarry sheath. Or, I can pop the scales off and try something completely different if you want. Email me to discuss options!
