This is a genuine German pilot and paratrooper gravity knife that was issued to the German Armed Forces about 25 years ago. It is brand new in box. The knife has an olive-drab handle and black metal parts with the exception of the blade. The handle is marked BUND. The blade is marked WMF. This knife also has a marlin spike designed to wedge knots apart.
By flipping the trigger away from the knife and depressing it, the blade can be extended with a flick of the wrist. By holding the knife blade-up and depressing the trigger a second time, the blade slides back in the handle.
The blade measures approx. 4". The overall length of the knife open is approx. 10", and closed is approx. 6". The marlin spike is approx. 3.5".
This knife is brand new and has never cut anything at all. I bought two and use one for absolutely everything. You couldn't ask for a more convenient knife when you're out fishing. And the really great thing? There are always auctions on eBay for blades that will fit this knife.
