Bura and family - Lots of Pix

It was certainly nice of Bura to invite us into his life via photographs. It makes the whole HI outfit seem more like friends and family than a friendly business.

Best wishes to all.

Fantastic photos. Thank you, Ted. It's always nice to better know the kamis that we hold so near and dear to us.

Bura and his family are Hindu.

Fantastic pictures, Thanks for sharing, He clearly lives very well for a Kami. Many ex Gurkhas live in similar houses.

Triquenta Hindus venerate Jesus as another God amongst hundreds or thousands of dietys..

Hindus accept others Gods. Its Christians, Muslims & Jews who dont.

That's something that I didn't know. Pretty interesting. You learn something every day.

That IS a great glimpse into their world, Ted. Thanks.

Especially like the village/countryside pictures. Probably because I do better with landscapes than people.

I was able to find some more info about corn in Nepal from the web

Thanks Ted. :D I was pretty sure it was corn as I've seen it hung and dried the same way by some of the tribes here in the USA.

IIRC there are somewhere around 86 different foods that was introduced around the world from the Americas. Corn, beans, potatoes, tomatoes, hot peppers, squash, just to name a few.;)
Of course tobacco was also introduced from North America but I saw sometime back where there might have been some tobacco discovered in a tomb or such that dates from ancient Egypt.
I haven't heard or seen anything since so I don't know whether it was proved or disproved.
There was some speculation about whether there was trade between ancient Egypt and the Americas, sure would explain a lot of things if it were so.:D
