After admiring the EXk1 for quite some time, I finally chose it over the Leafstorm that I was wanting. I like the simple lines and looks of these. What do you forumites think ? ETA about 10 days!!!

I clicked on this link wholeheartedly expecting some new special blade shape or specialized design that was specially designed for cutting hamburgers...

Looks like a pretty cool simplistic knife though, what kind of steel and general price? O.o

Price is $140. The Steel is N690 Stainless, which I understand is 440C. Maybe not real exotic, but I bet it's OK.

I have had three folders from them, they are fantastic knives,IMO

N690 is not 440C, that is a common misconception. N690 is a very good steel that sharpens and performs a little like VG-10 but seems to have a tad more wear resistance.

can you try to post pictures at different angles when you get it? it looks like a nice knife. i too like the simple lines.

Well. If you want my opinion. They are absolutely great edc knives! N690 Bohler can be compared to vg10. They also use 440c. The heat treat I have found to be very good and is close to s30v, a bones is that the blade profile and edge is thin. Therefore a great slicer. I know Trevor quite well and have met his farther. Great people. Here is my review a year back:

and lots of pics!

I am going to get the larger one in a few weeks. And will do a full review with pictures of production. I have used mine hard. and it has not disappointed.

I really like the look of that knive!
Reminds me a bit of some Fällkniven designs.

I actually thought, for a second, Mick Strider might have changed his name back to what it once was and started a new company.:D

As far as the knife goes, it appears very functional and straightforward. I bet you'll be very happy with it. N690 is a very decent, Austrian made steel, used in some pieces by many of today's top production companies, like Boker, Benchmade, Ontario, Extrema Ratio, Spyderco, TOPs, and FOX Cutlery. I believe it was knifemaker Jerry Hossom who was quoted in an article as having said N690 behaves a lot like BG-42, which is another great steel.

Hi everyone. Just check if the website still gives any problems? It seems to have been sorted out now.

Spikedog.

Has your EXK arrived yet?
