If it is fresh cut wood i seal end grain then sticker and stack for a few months. Then I cut the wood about 25% larger than I need. Reseal the ends and put on a wire rack with about an inch or so between pieces. I built a drying room about the size of a small closet. In it I mounted a fan neer the ceiling to blow across the room. In the top and bottom corners I put a foot wide piece of plywood mounted at a 45 degree angle. This way the air goes across the upper part of the room, hits the plywood that directs the airflow downward till it hits the lower corner that sends the air back across. This keeps the air flowing in a vertical circle. I also kept a dehumidifier going to remove moisture from the air. This way you have wood dried in a fraction of the time needed to just air dry.
I avoid heat except in winter when I try to keep the temp around 70.
