I nearly finished this knife, the handle material is black-stabilized box elder burl. But while hand sanding the handle a piece has came off :barf:..

I was pretty discouraged at first. I tried to fill the void with some epoxy and sanding dust mix, but it turned out very ugly. I wasn't sure what to do. My gf did came up with a solution.

Photoshop image, the plan is to fill the gap with a white-box elder:

The hi-tech tool to square the edges of the gap:

I am done with one side, all will be finished by tomorrow evening I guess...

edit: I didn't notice my knifemaker membership is expired, searched everywhere to attach images :( , I hope to renew it after selling this knife...

Thanks for nice feedback. I'm gonna hang on to her, for sure..

I've been working very carefuly, to make sure there is no gap between materials. Here is test fitting those stripes of white wood:

And after attaching and trimming (there are holes and dents under, so I guess little epoxy pins between black and white wood will be strong enough)

Have a nice day...
