Here's a question for you:

I have my other burlap micarta scales cut that I got from you but I haven't glued them or shaped them yet.

However one thing I noticed was, I don't know exactly how to explain this but on one side of the scales the pattern of the burlap is more horizontal somehow, where on the other side it's more vertical.

I thought about placing the scales so the side with the pattern I like would be on the outside, but since I'll be sanding them down and contouring them and I'm not sure which way the layers between the front and back are laid in there I just cut them out however.

Do you have any pics of the burlap on a knife where it's like rounded? I'm just wondering what the scales look like when the difft layers are exposed?

Jim,
I can't really tell with out a pic, maybe not even with a picture. I try to cut the material with it all orientated the same direction, and epoxy it up likewise. The burlap is an inconsistent material to start with, and due to the open weave it may stretch or otherwise distort. The stuff you sent me has a much more consistent weave, so perhaps this will be eliminated. I'll see when it comes out of the mold tomorrow. I'll try to dig up some photos and email them to you later.

Two of the denim slabs are sold, and part of one burlap.

One denim and one burlap slab, as well as one partial burlap remain for sale.

Thanks!

Sorry to resurect this guys, but ShadeTree, do you still have some Denim for sale? I'm in need of some.

Sorry about that, I went back to my old screenname, so it is the same on all the forums I frequent. That sold on another posting, but I'll be happy to make up more. I'll pm you soon with a quote.

Denim SPF to Jeffdk06

Burlap still available...same as I am supplying to Bark River

can you post an example of the twisted burlap slabs?

I cannot find a pic of anything I have done in the twisted burlap...wierd:confused:
Lots of pics of twisted canvas, but no burlap:rolleyes: and no example on hand.

What colors would you like to see? I might need to work up a sample

the twisted burlap slabs are awesome--mark

But Like Marek says, they are awesome:D

Anyhow, lets call this thread closed and take it over to THIS THREAD

Thanks!
