Since my old one wasnt up to snuff i started building this contraption

its a 2 inch gate valve
2 3 inch nipples and then it converts over to
1 1/2 6 inch long pipe

problem is i need to weld in the tube and i think i drilled the hole wrong

the tip needs to fire straight down the 6 inch tube right? mine is on a angle no straight down it i could easily grind it up some and try to make it straight

I was thinking I might try to drill it across rather then straight up on a new elbow and press it in there

it was pretty damn hard to get the drill press to drill into this
then again I havent bought a vice yet lol

my blower is 110 cfm's i hope this will all work together

maybe i can get some suggestions here
thanks bryce

If i could make a recommendation, Instead of using an elbow with a hole drilled in it, use a T instead of an elbow and use one of the large endcaps, then drill and tap it for 1/4 ntp and use a pipe inside and outside.

Like this

http://www.tharkis.com/images/shop/burner.jpg There's a matching pipe on the inside with the 'burner' cap with the hole drilled in it.

seems like a better idea i tryed to copy indian george,

I should have realized im no indian george lol

this should be easier

Good thing you're no IG, there's not enough room on this planet for two IGs!

IG is actually the one who helped me do the drilling and tapping for my burner, I didnt have the right tools for it at the time. =)

I drilled the pipe itself then tapped the hole fro 1/4 NTP got a 2 inch 1/4 NPT nipple tapped the inside of that to (I think) 3/8 - 16 ran a bolt down that, drilled that for the gas orifice, faced the head of the bolt off on the lathe, and that works really well
