Burt foster combat #4vs5 vs Busse TGLB

Well, I purchased and recieved the Burt Foster combat #5. It is an extraordinary knife the handle just melts into my hand! The laminated Steel is stunning and RAZOR sharp! I"ll have to post some pics and do a review. My only concern is the tip is extremely thin. I'm sure it is designed that way to get good penetration. I know one of the test for a master smith is for the blade to bend 90 degrees and spring back so I shouldn't have to be concerned. Oh, let's not for get the sheath it is beautifully crafted. Well I'm going to have to sell my 2 Busses and a strider to help fund my new purchase, it's worth it.

That test is utilized by the ABS to allow the maker to display that he/she has control over the entire heat treating process - it is NOT a goal that most seek to attain after this test!!! Make sure you clear with the maker that the blade is intended for use as a prybar, if in fact it's your intention...

Now, back to the question - looks like you made a great choice, and certainly the one I would have made in the same situation. Congrats!!!
