I made my son a small spoon yesterday for his little kit that he carries around when we go walking (knockoff SAK, tinder kit, fishing kit, etc). Well, in the process of doing so my M2K nibbled me. Just a glancing blow but still brought the blood. So, i have some burts bees res q ointment. I put some on the band aid and the antiseptic qualities of it killed any kind of minor sting that was going on. I recommend this stuff for your kit. I have the small tin, takes up no space and is light and useful. Really helps the dried out hands this time of the year too.

Never really thought about it, but I use the stuff a lot in the shop. Especially when my fingertips are getting unrecognizable as such from the constant water dipping and glancing scrapes from this or than tool +1

I use it almost religiously. Along with the Miracle Salve, Hand Repair and lip balm. The Res Q is in all my packs.

Burts Bees products are all i use. GREAT stuff, esp the little tin of lip balm in the winter

Got one of those w/ me as well. I keep a tube of lip balm in the truck. tin in the office.

the tube is the honey stuff...not found of the sent/flavor but it still works great!

Honey is amazing. It has hydrogen peroxide in it, its extremely hydrophillic (drys out bacteria) and it is acidic. The stuff is extremely sanitary. I have a pic of a healed wound I only treated with honey, somewhere..

Has anyone used the salve for firestarting? I wonder if it has a second use as emergency firestarter, like wax or Chapstick.

^ pretty much any of the BB products are flammable.........rub some into a cotton ball andlight it up

I have to say, and I do this, with a bit of sheepishness...

I actually used their lip balm, once.

All of my life, I have looked on those who nuzzled the Carmex/Chapstick with more than a bit of disdain...

But, I decided, some time back, that I could see a time when I would throw my pride to the wind, and use this product.

And I have, once.

I am still not happy with myself, but it was better than bleeding lips... barely...

So, that is a credit to Burt, way to go, you perverted me.

Yeah I personally don't use anything. Or I use so very sparingly. Some good lotion if my hands are dry but only if they are dry. Same for lip balm. I do use really good shampoo and conditioner for my hair but wouldn't use it if my hair were short.

An old oilfield worker told me this. If hands are very chafed, rub vicks salve on them, put your hands in an old pair of socks, and go to sleep overnight.

I love Burt's Bees stuff. I live by the lip balm and halve salve in the winter time, and the Res-Q all year round.
