Bury knife.

I like the idea, that way 1,000's of years in the future, when archaeologists, (or real estate developers) dig it up, it'll be a...

Cool Story, Bro

I think you are young, and that's a blessing. Enjoy your youth; it doesn't last long.

What knife company was it that had a skeleton in a coffin holding a fixed blade, with " _____ knives because you never know where you're going" ?

Sorry, but this is one of the goofier threads I've read in awhile. I can't really conceive of why you'd want to do this.

I untentionally burried an endura wave while working for a landscaping company a few years ago.

I know it's under one of about 400 cedar trees but can't say for sure which one.

knives, like guns are money in the bank..... and I don't make it a habit of burying money.

Burying like treasure is odd, but I've read lots of stuff about people burying survival supplies, especially guns. I think detection by metal detector hobbyists is pretty unlikely--how often do you see people with metal detectors anyplace other than the beach?

I believe most metal detectors have limited range so can be defeated by either burying deep, or placing some scrap metal above the cache. Or burying near a known metal source.

Boston T. Party talks about some of this in his Gun Bible book, and no doubt there are loads of sites about more logistics such as how deep or how to avoid moisture.

This is a ridiculous post and run thread.

OP, I think you should elaborate on what you meant, or admit you were drunk when you posted this.

This was way before I got turned on to the brand, but Jerry Busse has buried special knives and then posted clues for people to go find them...I know one or two have been found, but there are still some out there. I think it's a pretty cool idea.

OP ignore the attacks- nothing wrong with burying anything that you're trying to stash away for long or short term

I've never done it, but wouldn't be opposed if the need ever arose

:welcoming: no , totally sober . I dont know how to elaborate more on that, but i will give an example of what I would do to try and explain.

1) acquire a expensive custom knife.
2) find a good location , in a forest or somewhere diga-bull
3) place the encased Knife in the hole and then plant a Blue spruce on top or directly beside it. (mabe even a few stones for marking the location)
4) map it as best as possible.(i wouldent use GPS data , that strikes me as to easy)
5) let time pass.

Several things could be done now. Dig it up. Start a rhumor about it, forget about it.

In the end it would be for pleasure. The idea that you have buried treasure somewhere.

OK, now I am confused :p
I first thought you were doing it for another reason.

Are you going to do that ?

Ken44

what other reason you were thinking ?? lol

will I ....I dont know..........................................................................

I think its kind of a neat idea. Maybe hide it somewhere its more likely to be found eventually.

When I was a kid my grandparents bought an old house on the coast of Maine. It needed a lot of work, and while he and my father were insulating the attic they found a box with a few coins from the 1800s. Nothing valuable, but it was an amazing treasure to me. An old pocket knife in that box would have made the find even better.

You could be giving someone a fantastic gift 50 or 100 years from now.

Bury an obsidian knife for two benefits. One, the metal detectors won't detect it. Two, the person who finds it may think it is a Paleolithic treasure. Third benefit - it won't rust.
