Ok, I have revised my knife design so it is a bit more ergonomic to hold. Overall length is now about 9.125", and 1.25" wide at the blade, 1.5" at the guard.

I'm not sure what caused you to make revisions but before I cut out my steel I cut out a piece of plexiglass to the final shape. That gives me something to hold and see how it feels and it is a lot cheaper than wasting steel if it turns out I don't like how it turns out.
