Bush Pack

Thanks, your abit taller than me (shut up Jake!)

I'm 5'8" 164lbs, I'm always on the look out for a pack that will fit my frame right.

That ones a bit out of my budget, but seams great.

 well, I.... Uh.... sheeesh. Fine! :D

Great pack bro. i like the looks of it, multi use too. Thats a plus!

Wow. That cow had to be a beast to pack out (assuming thats what you did). I wasn't even aware that ferral cows were a problem in New Zealand. When I first saw your picture without the text that went with it, I thought you were posing next to the neighbors cattle that you took down for trespassing.

aloha,my freind i live an hunt here on oahu but my ohana live in maui alot of wild cow there in hana,my wife ohana live on the big island big time hog huntas,i go hunt with then as much as i can love it up their, ever hunt wild donkey no one here in oahu beleive thats the best wild meat i ever eat,as for packs i use the jim horn canadian awsome pack got a expanded meat compartment ,an loads can tie down pretty good,or smaller pack i have a bruzzer gear mid pack on ebay for $40 an its better than my badlands that was almost $200,got my canadian in hilo at j hara store in kurtistown.aloha killa pics

I've heard that about the donkey meat, from multiple people...supposedly best eating game animal in the state.

I checked out the canadian at J Hara, was kind of bulky and sat too high on my back for me. But for more open places like Big Island or upcountry Maui it would be good...where I hunt on north shore kauai is extra thick, cant even walk without having trails cut. get uluhe fern eeeeverywhere.

For a small bag I use a camelback Striker, really good pack. I've fit a deboned 100lb pig in there, but my shoulders were bust afterwards. You can fit the deboned meat in a pillow case and then loosen the straps and the bottom pocket makes a little meat shelf. You have to tie it on your bag too with some rope but works pretty good. Perfect little daypack though.

Sounds like, if you want to stick with a lever gun, you should upgrade to a Marlin in .45-70. I never knew feral cows were an issue in Hawaii.

I now also have a 12 gauge Mossberg 535 Pump...8 rounds of 12 ga slugs will set a bull straight.

ok bro i did a little searching try check out bruzer gear on youtube they got vidz on the packs i got the mid size an mine sits lower than the guy on the vid i also got the trail pack smaller size, the mid has internal frame so packing is easy,an hydration comp.got compression straps so it ties down tite ,they sell for 150-200 but they got deals on ebay kinda hard to find i got my mid for $40 an trail for $25 ,on ebay type "hunting trail pack archery/rifle w/4 added accessories get into there store check-um out ,they might be cheap in price but dont let that fool you they are awsome w/ an life time warr. i use bruzer more than my horn canadian,an my badlands 2200,an we know how much those cost,,aloha bro

A wild bull is a terrifying creature once those hormones get pumping and he's pissed off. I wouldn't have thought you'd be undergunned with a .30-30, but in such close quarters you'd definitely want that thing to drop quick.

I know a few guys who used to be proffesional hunters and have nearly eradicated feral cattle from a few spots on Mauna Kea's slopes. They all used 30-30's, 308's and mini 30s. Strictly headshots. The first cow I shot was from 10 yards directly to the neck and it didn't even take a step. I learned that headshots are a neccesity when shooting an animal in excess of 300lbs with a 30-30. 1000+ cattle with a 30-30 is about equivalent to hunting a big 200+ boar with a 22 mag. It's really not big enough or fast enough of a bullet and isn't even close to the ideal gun when you have a raging wounded bull 10ft and closing. The bull literally fell 5ft behind me, if I hadn't have run the bull would have got me.
