I got mine yesterday and it just knocked the Recon 1 out of my pocket indefinitely. It's like a Vaquero handle was improved, then given a robust blade like a Recon 1. Awesome.
THAT SAID, I've got a few nits.
First, the lack of a ricasso or choil is annoying. I'd rather have neither, but these sharp corners are worse than either of the foregoing. I'll knock them down with a diamond file and deliberate on whether to widen it into a full choil.
Second, the inner edges on the scales were rather sharp and uncomfortable when gripped tightly. I'll smooth them over with some sandpaper so that it bites a bit less.
Third, the clip on mine was super tight, but that's nothing out of the ordinary for a Lynn Thompson design. A bit of stretching and smoothing out under the clip will solve this.
All of that aside, this thing came with perfectly symmetrical grinds and a lazer sharpened edge. Despite its thick stock it blazes through thick cardboard and fruits. Amazing slicer for such a tank. Why is this model discussed so infrequently? It's a new favorite.
