Karl5 - excellent question!

YES, the scandi will be indeed be a true scandi. NO secondary bevel whatsoever. Yes, it makes it harder for me to work on...(blade has to be sharp before glue-up)...and yes, I'll get cut a bunch of times...nothing new here, of course. :D

But it will be 100% true scandi...zero-edge grind

As a last step in sharpening, I slightly strop the edge, which will leave it polished, but it is in no way a microbevel.

Dan

Dan, that's exactly what I wanted to hear!!:thumbup:

Ab-so-lu-te-ly perfect!!

Thanks!

Dan,

I voted for 1/4" handle scales in the poll thread, but it didn't get transferred over to the pre-order thread.

Please make mine the thick ones!

Thanks very much,
desmobob

Hey Dan,
My original # was 116, it Looks like you may have added me to the list a second time at #139 when you updated. As much as I would like two knives I'd hate to take a spot from someone else. Thanks for keeping us posted on the progress!

Ok - taken care of.

We do have a couple folks "on the waiting list" should any extras fall through the cracks. :D

I'm almost done updating all the payments. whew!!!

Okay Dan, I saw the sheaths and I want to add one to my order if it's poss-ee-blay. Then I saw people talking about thicker scales? If so I want those too. Then I saw where the shipping box stuffing will be from nudey mags? I want that too!

I missed the boat on this but it looks like a great design so please add me to the waiting list. I'm sure that you guys that got in will love them.

Hi Dan,

Sorry to bother again, but I have another silly question.
Is the back of the blade going to have squared off corners (as opposed to chamfered or rounded)?
Nice, square corners makes the back of the blade a superior tool for creating sparks with a firesteel and for scraping tasks in general (bark off branches, meat off skin).
Added to that, square back corners also makes the knife a better tool for making/drilling holes in wood with the blade tip.

Yes, the spine will be squared off from the thumbramp forward.

It's time to make your sheath preference known (if you've got one coming). Post to this thread to let me know which one you want and I'll update the first post with the number (2 or 3)

Style #2: Firesteel Loop, metal clip

Style #3: Firesteel Loop, no clip

Thanks!

I'll take a number 2, do I need to add a sheath order or edit the bushcraft order in the tracker?

Ok - list updated!

I'll double check the order form when it's time to ship.

So far this is what I have for handles:
(posted mostly for my benefit...:D )

3/16" Green micarta = 16
3/16" Natural micarta = 35

1/4" Green micarta = 48
1/4" Natural micarta = 37
