I am new to knife making and have a saw blade to make a bushcraft knife but I don't really know what design to use. I've seen all the normal blade designs but one as useful but differnt. Any ideas?

Go hang out in the W&SS sub-forum here and read the posts there. Thats where all the bushcrafters hang out and you will find lots of pictures of knives. Welcome to BF....

The style designed by Ray Mears and Alan Wood is pretty much the standard 'bushcraft' knife now and is favoured by most people who make bushcraft knives in the UK. Its basicaly a modified version of the typical scandinavian knife. If your not so keen then a basic scandi would be a good choice. Its worked for hundreds of years and is still one of the most popular general bushcraft knife styles out there. Ive made and used dozens of knife designs and I still think for general use in the woods the 'scandi' is the most usefull and user friendly.
