If you want to strictly do bushcraft, the ESEE-3 will be better because of the thinner blade makes slicing and whatnot easier.

I say strictly bushcraft, as the heavy stuff is done with the big tool (axe, machete, etc) and not the knife.

Im have been wondering the same thing and finally decided on the 4 for it thickness, better for battonig i think. Watch out for the Izula tho, can git a little tiring on your hand when doing very fine work for prolonged periods of time.

thanks again for all the input guys... it seems like it comes down to personal preference between the 3 and 4. I really like the extra durability of the 4 but i like the portability of the izula, so i think ill split the middle and go with the 3.

You'll really like the 3, very well balanced and does great for carving spoons.
