Bushcraft Library for Beckerheads?

Frankly, the new iPad is probably my ONLY chance.:)
I'm getting old now. All my girls are grown up ladies ... and now a single one has given me a grand-kid yet.
I am WAAYYY over-due.

well, you know, you could simply borrow it for a bit and lose it. old people lose things all the time. i'd lose it in say, my car, or some such and lock it away ;)

oh, they need knocking up? well :) cough. i mean, is there a new ipad in this for someone?

It's too late. They're hard-cases, every one.

"Daddy, have you heard how great my career is going?"

"Dad -- I just got a sweet raise!"

"Pappy, should I buy a Mercedes or a BMW?"

Doggone Material Girls!!!!

"i don't care what you buy, unless i have to co-sign, and then it had better be a volvo with 7 seats, for my grandkids" :>

Man, the Becker traffic is getting brutal.
Went looking for this thread, only to find it at the very bottom of page four. :D

Anyway, I visited the used bookstore near work today and added a couple of titles to my outdoor-oriented library.

whacky. my local user super bookstore has crap for outdoors books.

did get a copy of Bushcraft though. there are photographs, and the illustrations are most acceptable. someone commented earlier about all that sucking. seems quite nice, and has information even during a quick glance, that i've never seen elsewhere.

Build the perfect survival kit by John MccCann

Here's a few I really dig. :)

I have my own copy of both Sam Thayer books now. If you're interested in edible wild plants, check out his website.

a little dated, but still awesome...
I've got 2 copies, one in my gear bag and one by the crapper....

I suppose I should get these for my Blackberry tablet... Kindle size with better than iPad functionality :D

great minds my friend
I hear ya. That's actually my second copy. I gave my first to my son. It had a different cover on it.

Huh, I just Google imaged the book, and they all have the covers shown here. I swear it had a different cover on it.

Thanks for the heads up about the Foraging guides John G. I was looking for a book or 2 on that subject and ordered one blindly a couple of days ago. I will definitely check these 2 out as well.

Here are some .pdf books that I keep on my usb drive for reference. I'll post some urban guides as well if requested.

Bushcraft Canadian Scout Manual
Camp Life in the Woods & Trapping
Capt Daves Survival Guide
Combat Survival & Evasion
Fieldcraft (Canadian Military)
First Aid Guide (Military)

I like this one...I have had this copy for a long time, bought it in a thrift store when I was a kid. The old editions are better...the new ones are PC, not as much useful bushcrafty stuff in them. Mine is a 1982 edition (another reason I like it, my birth year)
