hey i just got BUSHCRAFT today and it is a great book! 303 pages of great info, sketched drawings and some colored photos the table of contents is FIRECRAFT, AXECRAFT, KNIFECRAFT, SAWCRAFT, BINDCRAFT (cordage), SHELTERCRAFT, THE BIRTCHES, THE CONIFERS, THE WILLOWS, THE SHRUBS, THE MOOSE and THE VARYING HARE i havent read much but it is a big book and has loads of info you guys should go get it pretty inexpensive. does any one else have it? any favorite parts in the book?

I have it, and love it..my 3 top favorites are Bushcraft, Outdoor survival skills..by Larry Dean Olson, and the SAS survival handbook by Wiseman.

I have the book. Perhaps my favorite part is the section on Axe Craft. For an extended stay in the woods, I prefer an axe over a machete for large fuel gathering and making substantial camp crafts.

I've got it
It was originally published as Northern Bushcraft
Well thought out for the basics

Not to Hijack the thread, but what is the Rabbit Stick Gathering and where is it held. Gene

bushcraft is a great read... definately one of my favorites... i am a big fan of mors...:D

gene- "rabbit stick" is a primitive gathering held every year in idaho.... there is also "winter count", put on by the same folks, backtracks... that one is in arizona... i've wanted to go to that one for years....:o
