If you look at that one pic of the skookum and KB together with the part that your fingers wrap around facing each other you can see the handles aren't that much different in length. Just that knob on the KB kinda makes the grip area shorter.
With a sanding drum you could probably take that back a little. The knob wouldn't project as far once you were done but I think it would still look good and you could get you maybe even up to a quarter inch more?
Very good point HD. I think the "knob" you are talking about is pretty much gonna all but disappear by the time I'm finished.
Referring back to the picture you mentioned... working from the bottom up. Notice how the first 2/5 [+ or - a fraction] of the handles are pretty much a miirow image. Then notice the last 3/5 are not.
What would "fix" this for me and my hand....... and I realize this is totally subjective ....... is simple... in theory. Extend the last 3/5 th's of the handle and a slight bit more cutout where the index fits under the front corby and lanyard hole.
Move the "bump" you spoke of on the bushy up even with the striker pommel on the skookum. Move the swell back 3/8 inch and extend it 5/8 inch more also.
Leave everything else as is.. the perfect knife would have a handle about 3/4 to 1 inch longer to fit my & others....larger hand and all the other great features.... size included would be left un-scathed. Still even fit the same sheath.
Anyway, just thinking outloud........ after the fact.........
