Well....here's what the blade looks like after heat-treat...

...purple "as-heat-treated" finish...some of them with printed lettering on them, etc.

I really like this one...!!

Very "natural"....

It's definitely going to be the quickest....possibly saving me hours and hours of unexpected, unanticipated work.

Just glue-it-up and go!

:foot:

I didn't want to limit my options, though....so I set out for another finish.

Best I could come up with after dipping in several chemical, paints, solvents, etc...

...and the lettering is still there. *shrug*

This finish is the most complicated...and will require the most work...I can do it if you guys really want me to.

I'm committed to getting this one right!
(even if it means getting in touch with our feminine side)

And then there's this plain finish...

...takes nearly (at least!) 20 seconds with a scotchbrite wheel:

I'm not sure which one to pick guys?

Time to vote!!!

I'm pretty torn on this one actually! I really like the 'as heat treated' finish, just because it looks so rugged and ready to use. The satin look is really sleek looking to though, very 'high dollar' looking.

I'm really not into the pink/chemical look, so I'm glad that it would be the one to take more work anyway.

I'll have to wait to vote until one of these jumps out at me more, or I hear a convincing argument one way or the other...

I like the plain heat treated finish but not the lettering too much:thumbdn:

How many still retain the lettering?

I like the "as heat treated" finish. I even like the lettering; it has a cool industrial look to it. Second would be the scotch brite finish.

Too much time on your hands, Dan. Fingers off the keyboard and back to the grinder!

By the way, tactical pink for me. :D

I like as forged, or satin. That pink one is um... not too cool.

Yes - 3V will patina like any other high-carbon knife...just doesn't rust as easily. And the "as-forged-satin-finish" on these bushcraft knives will age nicely.

sorry... no pink here either...:o my wife doesn't even like pink...:)

either of the other 2 is fine..... with no letters..:D

If you can do the as heat treated without letters, that looks really cool. Though the plain, satin look is also really slick.

My first choice would have been as-forged but without the lettering. Failing that, the satin is the go I reckon. (I just couldn't see myself carrying a "Barbie" knife :o)

Dang, guys....this was, umm....intended to be a bit tongue-in-cheek....y'all are waaaay to sober....must be Monday.

:D

this would have probably been funnier on Wednesday or Thursday....:foot:

:(

I was actually wondering at first if you were just gonna see if the people who wanted blanks would take the ones with the writing, save a bit more time by not doing anything but sharpen after HT. :D

I'm wondering how panicked your next post would have been if everyone yelled for PINK !!!
